for Santa Monica Council
My name is ALBIN GIELICZ (pronounced Gill-itch). You might know me as a Recreation and Parks Commissioner and the Chair of the board of directors for Santa Monica Travel and Tourism or through my involvement on many other boards and community organizations for the past 15 years.
And it’s possible that you’ve seen me enjoying a coffee with friends and neighbors on Montana Avenue where I live in a rent-controlled apartment, or perhaps running along our beach bike and pedestrian path. When you get to know me, it becomes abundantly clear: I LOVE SANTA MONICA, and I KNOW SANTA MONICA.
As a Council Member, I will lead with my love for this city and all that we value and stand for. I will lead with resolute optimism, unwavering determination, and will find common ground for the good of all, especially on those issues that divide us.
Your donation is greatly appreciated. All your generosity will go towards getting the word out about my vision for our awesome city.
Join me for the ride.
Santa Monica is a safe community. However, that perception has been challenged and is no longer shared by all. I believe that everyone who lives in, works in and visits Santa Monica must feel safe. Here's how we get there.
Over the past several years. we have seen an increase in the number of people experiencing homelessness both living in and passing through Santa Monica. In line with our values of compassion and equity, I will continue to work to find a solution that works for all stakeholders.
We have yet to fully recover economically from the past two+ years. In doing so, we must foster a more business-friendly environment that works for all businesses as well as the residents of our socio-economically diverse city. Check out my plan to make this happen.
Santa Monica excels at sustainability. Other communities look to us for guidance. The climate crisis is real and we need to make sure we remain hyper-aware of our collective carbon footprint and water usage. Here are more ideas to consider.
